In my experience I just caught her off graud and just told her,yes she was shocked but she did respone back in a good way..so the next time you are around her just tell her.
Do it in person instead of calling her on the telephone. Be confident, be assertive, and control your nerves and patience. Look presentable and cool. Be prepared for her answer.
