Eating off a tiny plate and using small cutlery are two of the psychological tricks I use on myself. It makes me less likely to overindulge, because it still looks like a good-size portion. The small cutlery also forces me to eat more slowly. It takes around 20 minutes for food to reach the stomach, so the slower you scoff, the fewer calories you're likely to consume.
