There were many prophets who claimed to be the Messiah before Jesus was given that title. They had disciples who spread their teachings, just as Jesus did. Do you know what they taught? You don't, because they all took their teachings to the grave. After all, they were from a tiny country with very little influence, which seemed to be unpopular with most of the countries that had contact with them. So how did the teachings of some poor uneducated laborer become the largest religion on earth?
