If you grew up in the middle class, as far as I'm concerned; you grew up in privilege. The middle class consists of the college educated, well fed, roof over head, and at least some assets that could be left for future generations. For many people, being above hopeless is a long way from being at the bottom. Regardless of the label of your class, there's nothing classier than kindness!~
