When I'm training for 'True Blood,' I don't eat any sugar except for some fruit here and there. So it's no sugar, no bread, no real carbs all day.

I watched so many comic book movies where the actors weren't as built as the characters in the book. It made me mad because they didn't look right.

We had a TV studio in high school and I would write, produce, and act in movies with my friends... I then auditioned for 'Oklahoma' my senior year and got the part of Jud...then I got into CMU and the rest is history!

I come from classical theater training and when I went to college it was a bunch of kids that were hand-picked from around the world. I was around such brilliant young minds and incredible artists with incredible teachers.

I mean, everyone walks into the gym on day one skinny or fat. Arnold Schwarzenegger walked into the gym skinny at 15 or 16, and I was that way, too.

Theres that moment where you come off the stage for the first time and youre sitting alone backstage in your thong, sweating, basically coming out of a trance, thinking, What did I just do? Its like waking up out of a blackout covered in blood. Youre like, What just happened? Can I go to jail for this?

I was in Spiderman, and Ive been a part of some pretty big movies and big projects, and Ive never seen anything like the amount of attention and curiosity about it like Magic Mike. It is wild.

Ive written stuff before, and Im actually looking to put together a couple of producing projects that I hope to shoot during my hiatus in 2013. Producing is definitely on the radar for now. I mean it is hard directing, that is probably more down the line, but I could definitely see myself doing it at some point. But for right now I want to produce projects that I would want to see.

I shot an episode of Jake in Progress with John Stamos a few years back and the casting people recommended me to the writer of Skirts & Flirts, Gloria Calderon Kellett, who then wrote a part for me in her play... it turned out that she was also a writer on How I Met Your Mother.

I spent the first half of my career doing nothing but Shakespeare, Chekhov, Ibsen, ancient Greek. People ask me, Oh, are you worried about getting typecast? I mean typecast as a guy who works with Oscar winners? I work with Alan Ball. I work with Steven Soderbergh. I think its going okay.

CBS had originally wanted another actor to play Brad, but the writers and producers convinced them to give me the part instead. I was only slated to shoot one episode, but they liked what I was doing so much that they rewrote the character of Brad in the next episode for me, from there they kept inviting me back for more and giving me funnier stuff to do.

Im not the kind of guy whos going to go out to a club and go dancing. Im just not really that guy, but yeah, I think that male stripping is all about the hips, the pelvis and that whole thing. You come away with some basic moves that are either applicable to life or, like I said, you can take those on to a show like True Blood and use them there. There are definitely some moves that I can use this year on the show.

So if its a good project Im going to do it, and if my shirt is off in it then Im going to do that 110 percent. If my shirt is on Im going to do that 110 percent. Im really not concerned. As you know, my shirt is on the first four episodes of True Blood this year, and there is some pretty heavily dramatic stuff that goes on there.

I got to L.A. in 2000, when we were coming off the '90s: women looked like men and the men all looked like women.

I got picked on a lot in elementary school until my father told me to hit back...I never picked on kids but after that incident, I never let anyone mess with me again... In high school I was the jock that defended the skater kids from the other jocks that picked on them...so I was actually kind of the 'Anti-Flash.'

I think there is a lot in Magic Mike that would have been applicable for this season of True Blood. I definitely got some ideas from shooting Magic Mike for certain scenes that come up this year on True Blood.

I started working in clubs at age 16, so it is all a story about the club life. About picking the s.., drugs, and rock and roll kind of thing. I think that was interesting to me as well. It seemed like a lot of fun, the stuff that they were giving me to do. I mean, hell, they offered me a part. The part of Big d..k Richie and with everything that goes along with that in the movie and that writing, I was laughing hysterically. The gags that I have are just kind of all fun.

I was shooting What to Expect When You're Expecting in Atlanta with Chris Rock when this script came in. And I was like, Should I do it? And hes like, Oohmale strippers, I dont know. And I was like, If I do this movie, guys are going to hate my guts. And Chris Rock islike, Motherfu..er, guys are gonna hate your guts anyway. Brad Pitt spent 15 years with his shirt off, hes doing just fine.

My schedule on 'True Blood' has kept me from the big action movies. There's been serious interest in me for big action pictures, and we can't fit them into my hiatus from the series. I have a contract. I can't walk away from it. And I wouldn't want to. But for a kid who grew up loving action pictures and comic books, that move seems like a no-brainer. Since graduating from a classical theater school, I've consciously tried to turn myself into the kind of adult actor who would make the sort of comic book superhero that I would have wanted to see when I was a kid. I hope that happens, someday. It's just a matter of when it comes up and what it is.
