Football is a team sport which is very popular worldwide. Two teams play the sport together and compete against each other, each having 11-18 players at a time. Goals are supposed to be scored by kicking a ball with the foot, to varying degrees. The team that scores more goals in the stipulated duration of the match ultimately wins. Football world cup is organised once in every four years. In the words of Vince Lombardi, “Football is like life - it requires perseverance, self-denial, hard work, sacrifice, dedication and respect for authority.”
Football has many forms, with the most famous one being association football or soccer. Other popular forms of the game are American football, Australian Rules football, Canadian Football, Gaelic Football, rugby league, rugby union etc. In the words of Erma Bombeck, “if a man watches three football games in a row, he should be declared legally dead.” Football is a team game and people worldwide enjoy playing it.
