Reward means a prize or award given to a person, acknowledging his commendable work. People get rewards when they work laboriously and diligently. A reward is the acknowledgement of one’s hard work and labour. People are rewarded with money, certificates or mementos. These mementos act as keepsake or souvenir of remembrance and acknowledgement of one’s commendable work. Rewards are something that each of us long for. But, one should never think of rewards and rather concentrate on the work at hand. One should aim at fulfilling our duty diligently and then one is bound to get rewarded in the process. A reward is also used to describe the compensation or remuneration given for providing services, to any individual.
In the words of Major Taylor, “As a reward of their clean living and good habits these great stars have been able to withstand the rigorous test of stamina and physical exertion and have thus successfully extended their most remarkable careers over a period of many strenuous years.”
