Some of the most poisonous people come disguised as friends and family.
Though in life we grow close to certain people growing up including people who we have known to be friends and family, many times we have to be willing to give more distance between them and ourselves. Sometimes friends and family are some of the worst people we can ever be around. Finally recognizing this we are faced with many mental and emotional dilemmas.
Family isn't always blood. It's the people in your life who want you in theirs, the ones who accept you for who you are. The ones who would do anything to see you smile and who love you no matter what.
Though not everyone has the capability of just calling whoever they want or seeing whomever they may desire when they desire to, we should all make an effort to reach out to those we love, and those who love us unconditionally just the same.
Love your parents and treat them with loving care, for you will only know their value when you see their empty chair.
Though we all have a variety in what figures played maternal and paternal roles in our lives, we must put an emphasis on showing the love we have for our parents, consistently, for as long as they live. Show them love by giving them the gift of you! Spend quality time with them, listen to the same old stories over and over again, eat with them, clean for them, and make sure that you tell them, and show them in ways best suited for your own relationships, how much you appreciate and love them.
What Is Family? They were the people who claimed you. In good, in bad, in parts or in whole, they were the ones who showed up, who stayed there regardless.
Everyone has family but it may not always be in the traditional form. Many of us have people who were there for us that aren't part of our bloodline but acted closer to us than many who are our family by definition.
