Surround Yourself With Good People

It is a hard concept to conceive for a lot of us, especially those of us who have trouble dealing with being rejected and facing reality, but the truth is, when someone really cares they will find ways to show that they care. Some of us question the devotion of a loved one in our lives daily, because they don't do the things that they know they need to do in order to stay in our lives, yet expect to be able to enter in and out of our lives when it is convenient for them. I am here today to tell you to take a stand to those people who treat you in this manner.

The time starts now for them to live by an ultimatum saying that if they want to be in your life they have to do the things necessary in order to stay in your life. Those who really love you, and who are really good for you will accept this and will make a concerted effort in order to remain in your life, while those who don't will not make the efforts they need to in order to remain as a fixture in your life. If you don't stand up for yourself now, then they will continue to run over you and take advantage of the love that you grant them, while if you force someone to do the things that they know they are supposed to do, you will be able to easily weed out the people who are no good for you, and keep the people around who will be positive influences in life!

Never forget how much you really mean. If someone doesn't treat or value your friendship and takes your love for granted, then it may be time to either communicate the way you feel so that a change may be made, or it may be time to give them much less of yourself.

Sometimes in life we have to decipher the time to be a true friend or the time to be a true lover, and realize when the time is to let go of someone who is in our lives. It has been said to believe who someone is the first time that they show you who they are, and to never hold on to someone who doesn't want to be held on to. When it comes down to it, many of us choose to hold on to people who dont want to be in our lives because we feel some amount of emptiness inside.

A great friend is a friend that will be there for you when you need for them to be. Before you can really know what a true friend should be to you, you have to be willing to learn about yourself. What standards do you have for your own life, what is acceptable in your eyes, and what do you expect that others do in relation to certain situations that may pertain to you. You also have to realize that not everyone will believe in the same guidelines for their lives that you may, and at some point in your life, you will have to compromise to make sure that you may maintain a relationship.
