As a band, were always going to be evolving and changing. I really couldnt tell you where the music is going to go from hereit all depends on where were at musically and as people the next time we go into the recording studio. I dont really think we had any real revelation when we were a couple 14 and 15-year-old kids about the bands name. It was more just a name that was funny and suitable at the time. Its kind of like that friend who sleeps on your couch and just wont go away, who just hangs around forever.

Take a guy like Phil Collins, for instance. He's known as a pop-rock artist, but some of his music is so amazingly funky. I think people forget that you can actually do a certain style of music, but flavor it with all of your influences. You don't have to be a one-trick pony and stick to one thing in particular. I think that's the beauty of Gym Class Heroes. We've always been able to incorporate all of the influences that we have as fans of music and composers of music.

We're constantly hearing new influences everywhere. I say "new influences," but a lot of the stuff that influenced the record was music from the '60s and '70s, for me personally. There are a few tracks on the album that have a Beach Boys vibe to them.

I always did, I always showed up to gym class without my gym clothes. Sometimes they make you write out of this book - you'd have to copy, like, paragraphs or pages out of this stupid health book or whatever. Or other times they'd make you come after class, or other times they'd make you go to summer school, which I had to do once too.

Snatch fishing is the sh.., its illegal but its so fu..ing fun. Heres what it is: its a three prong hook with a weight in the middle, and what you do is, say you go to a dock and see a fish chillin. I remember the first time I realized I wanted to write songs and its really funny. I was watching a Fruity Pebbles commercial and Barney Rubble started rapping and I figured if he could do it, I could do it too. My is Barney and Im here to say, I love Fruity Pebbles in a major way He doesnt even have ears! (laughs)
