For somebody, just shrugging the shoulders would be an emotional anchor. When he becomes disappointed or angry, he would just shrug his shoulders and move on to some other subject. This is not just a meaningless physical movement. For somebody else it may be just running his fingers through his hair. For another person it may be a vulgar word. For somebody it may be the name of a divine being. Instead of just letting it happen unconsciously, we may build an emotional anchor and strengthen it by constant practice. Briefly stated, emotional anchor is anything used by a person to jettison weak, negative ideas from mind and regain his calmness and courage.
