Responsibility is the state of being responsible, answerable or accountable for a trust, obligation or debt. Responsibility is a kind of a social, moral or personal obligation that one is supposed to undertake. Moral responsibility implies a certain code of ethics that one is supposed to follow. It encompasses all the moral obligations that a person has to undertake and realise in different circumstances. For each son or daughter, the responsibility of his or her parents, is a moral obligation. The son of the family carries the onus of family welfare and prosperity on his shoulders. A family can function properly if all the members of the family shoulder their respective responsibilities religiously. In the words of Eleanor Roosevelt, “Freedom makes a huge requirement of every human being. With freedom comes responsibility. For the person who is unwilling to grow up, the person who does not want to carry is own weight, this is a frightening prospect.”
