Day is actually the entire period of 24 hours, reckoned from midnight to midnight. But, day is normally considered as the time between sunrise and sunset, when there is light. The day is followed by night. A term red-letter day is used for an important day. Red-letter days that are celebrated in every nation include Independence Day, Children’s day, labour’s day, World Aids day, UN Rights day etc.
Keeping the word “day” in mind, one is reminded of the famous quote by Mohandas Gandhi, the man who spearheaded India’s freedom struggle. To quote him verbatim, “It is any day better to stand erect with a broken and bandaged head than to crawl on one’s belly, in order to save one’s head.” One has to see through many days of hardships and adversities, to find success eventually. Days of glory are seen, only after putting in lots of true effort and dedication.
