War talk by men who have been in a war is always interesting; whereas moon talk by a poet who has not been in the moon is likely to be dull

The philosopher's soul dwells in his head, the poet's soul is in his heart; the singer's soul lingers about his throat, but the soul of the dancer abides in all her body.

The epic poet collaborates with the spirit of his time in the composition of his work. That is, if he is successful; the time may refuse to work with him, but he may not refuse to work with his time.

Poet Truth Real Musician quotes
LOSS, n. Privation of that which we had, or had not. Thus, in the latter sense, it is said of a defeated candidate that he lost his election; and of that eminent man, the poet Gilder, that he has lost his mind. It is in the former and more legitimate sense, that the word is used in the famous epitaph: Here Huntington's ashes long have lain Whose loss is our eternal gain, For while he exercised all his powers Whatever he gained, the loss was ours.

Have patience with everything that remains unsolved in your heart. Try to love the questions themselves, like locked rooms and like books written in a foreign language. Do not now look for the answers. They cannot now be given to you because you could not live them. It is a question of experiencing everything. At present you need to live the question. Perhaps you will gradually, without even noticing it, find yourself experiencing the answer, some distant day. Letters to a Young Poet.

Love is the only bow of life's dark cloud. It is the Morning and Evening Star. It shines upon the cradle of the babe, and sheds its radiance upon the quiet tomb. It is the Mother of Art, inspirer of poet, patriot, and philosopher. It is the air and light of every heart, builder of every home, kinder of every fire on every hearth, It was the first dream of immortality. It fills the world with melody. Love is the magician, the enchanter, that changes worthless things to joy, and makes right royal kings of common clay.

This is something I love. One thing about me, I'm gonna be hip-hop forever, until I'm 80 or whatever. I think for me, it's just that you have to balance life and really understand that when you're a parent and you're doing your thing, you have to draw a line some way and respect what your kids may look at later on in life when they hear you talking. I don't always like to talk about negativity or guns or drugs, even though I came from that. I'm giving you some movie shit, but at the end of the day, I do want to show a positive side, so when my kids get older they can say, "My dad made versatile music. He didn't just stay in one box. He was able to be a poet, for real. He wasn't just one-sided with it and he shocked the world." I did that, and I'm a bad rap motherfu..er.

YESTERDAY, n. The infancy of youth, the youth of manhood, the entire past of age. But yesterday I should have thought me blest To stand high-pinnacled upon the peak Of middle life and look adown the bleak And unfamiliar foreslope to the West, Where solemn shadows all the land invest And stilly voices, half-remembered, speak Unfinished prophecy, and witch-fires freak The haunted twilight of the Dark of Rest. Yea, yesterday my soul was all aflame To stay the shadow on the dial's face At manhood's noonmark! Now, in God His name I chide aloud the little interspace Disparting me from Certitude, and fain Would know the dream and vision ne'er again. --Baruch Arnegriff It is said that in his last illness the poet Arnegriff was attended at different times by seven doctors.

1 - 2 The most original sin is not the thinker's but the poet's. Jose Bergamin The novel is born of disillusionment; the poem, of despair. Jose Bergamin Theology is the logic of the Devil. Jose Bergamin There are no good or bad habits. All habits are, by definition, bad. Jose Bergamin There are those who dance to the rhythm that is played to them, those who only dance to their own rhythm, and those who don't dance at all. Jose Bergamin To be ready to fail is to be prepared for success. Jose Bergamin To be thirsty and to drink water is the perfection of sensuality rarely achieved. Sometimes you drink water; other times you are thirsty. Jose Bergamin To light one candle to God and another to the Devil is the principle of wisdom. Jose Bergamin To sin offers repentance and forgiveness; not to sin offers only punishment. Jose Bergamin True art tries not to attract attention in order to be noticed.
