Beautiful credit! The foundation of modern society. Who shall say that this is not the golden age of mutual trust, of unlimited reliance upon human promises? That is a peculiar condition of society which enables a whole nation to instantly recognize point and meaning in the familiar newspaper anecdote, which puts into the mouth of a distinguished speculator in lands and mines this remark: -- ''I wasn't worth a cent two years ago, and now I owe two millions of dollars.''

Learning from mistake and failure - in addition to persistence, hard work and loyalty - often provide the ingredients for success. Quite often, this is forgotten in today's society.

The standard that a society should actually embody its own professed principles is a utopian one, in the sense that moral principles contradict the way things really are --- and always will be. How things really are --- and always will be --- is neither all-evil nor all-good but deficient, inconsistent, inferior. Principles invite us to do something about the morass of contradictions in which we function morally. Principles invite us to clean up our act; to become intolerant of moral laxity and compromise and cowardice and the turning away from what is upsetting: that secret gnawing of the heart that tells us that what we are doing is not right, and so counsels us that we'd be better off just not thinking about it.

There can be no political revolution, no social revolution, no economic revolution. The only revolution is that of the spirit; it is individual. And if millions of individuals change, then the society will change as a consequence, not vice versa. You cannot change the society first and hope that individuals will change later on.

It was hard for me to do the show (All American Girl) because a lot of people didn't even understand the concept of Asian-American. I was on a morning show, and the host said, 'Awright, Margaret, we're changing over to an ABC affiliate! So why don't you tell our viewers in your native language that we're making that transition?' So I looked at the camera and said, 'Um, they're changing over to an ABC affiliate.'

Life is a transition between failure & success, pain & joy, disappointment & blessing as well as life & death; but we should learn to always trust God and show gratitude to Him in the midst of all these transitions.

I think in this day and age it's all part and parcel. There are people taking photographs of us working all the time. It's just one of those things; you've got to take it in stride. And you know, I put all the prep work into it. I'm not necessarily being shot in the best, most flattering of lights, but I put the hard work in and the performance will come later. People will see the movie, hopefully. It'll help when people see these photos beforehand, from various movies, to sell them more on the character. So it's less of that transition phase from seeing an actor on screen to believing a character and getting wrapped up in the story being told.
