Fidelity is a quality that we look for in a friend; without trust it is difficult to maintain fidelity. The horse must therefore have faith in you as a leader, but if you inflict pain on a horse you will extinguish that trust. Many horses come to me bereft of faith due to the treatment they have received from handlers.
