People under the influence of cults is similar to that we observe in addicts. Typical behaviour for both includes draining bank accounts, neglecting children, destroying relations with family and losing interest in anything except the drug or cult.

The biggest trade that Germany and Britain had was with each other, in the prewar period; I think I'm right in that. Two highly industrialized nations had the most trade with each other, and it wasn't tariff policies alone that made trade relations better for both of them.

I think one of the things if you look at minimalism or expressionism, there's various movements in modern composition that I think you can see really natural relations in pop music, so I mean I always look to that in pop music.

I've worked with a lot of great people, so I've gotten a lot of great advice. But I think the one I use the most, I picked up from James Lapine, who directed Earthly Possessions. He told me to take every sentence and figure out exactly what the thought was behind that sentence, and to have a specific thought for every line. And that was something that really opened a lot of doors for me.

There is nothing more dreadful than the habit of doubt. Doubt separates people. It is a poison that disintegrates friendships and breaks up pleasant relations. It is a thorn that irritates and hurts; it is a sword that kills.

My father was very strong. I don't agree with a lot of the ways he brought me up. I don't agree with a lot of his values, but he did have a lot of integrity, and if he told us not to do something, he didn't do it either.

Im in my mid-20s and I know how to look after my body on my own. Im not going to deny that I dont think about it every day, its always on my mind. I clearly like being fit, but its not thin without a hell of a lot of work...I run and I exercise a lot and then I eat. If I have to diet, its salad with protein, salmon and broccoli, no dessert. But what kind of life is that? So I work out a lot and Im just pretty moderate about what I eat.
