Just when the mountain looks too high, the obstacles too great between you and your goals you suddenly see The beautiful blue sky, the very presence of The Great Spirit, Which gently reminds you of the limitless possibilities ahead. So, reaching out to absorb that amazing energy, you find the will, the strength to keep climbing, for you know in the end the view will be worth the effort. Even more amazing, you may not even remember the effort later, only the limitless field of possibilities and beauty that now lay before you.

There is a relentless search for the factual and this quest often lacks warmth or reverence. At a certain stage in our life we may wake up to the urgency of life, how short it is. Then the quest for truth becomes the ultimate project. We can often forage for years in the empty fields of self-analysis and self-improvement and sacrifice much of our real substance for specks of cold, lonesome factual truth. The wisdom of the tradition reminds us that if we choose to journey on the path of truth, it then becomes a sacred duty to walk hand in hand with beauty.

Behind every smile there is a frown. Behind every frown there is a story. Within that story there was a moment of sadness, but with support from one simple person. We can change their fake smile into a true smile. Helping one another is what keeps others happy and reminds them to still have hope. Life has it's ups and downs. We cannot change the bad things that have happened to someone, but we can change the sadness they have within because of their past. Lend a helping hand because no one should have to face the world alone. With the people in the world coming to join as one. We can make a change. All you need to do is have faith, and give support to one another. Everyone in this world is family. For we are the sons and daughters of GOD. We should start treating one another as brothers and sisters. For if we do we can improve the love in the world.

There is a wonderful passage in the Odyssey where Odysseus meets the ghost of Achilles in Hades. They are profoundly courteous to each other. Odysseus, outlining his own toils, reminds Achilles that the supreme honor which the latter receives from all makes light of death; but Achilles, complimenting Odysseus on the magnificence of his adventures, answers that there is no consolation in death, for it is better to be the living slave of a poor man than king of all the dead. Yet, it is hard to imagine Achilles as the slave of a poor man, and hard to believe that he is speaking a literal truth. He is emphasizing the cost of his greatness, the incurable sorrow of being Achilles. He is saying, "I have suffered the wrost, and identified myself with it; you have merely survived. And Odysseus, for his part, says: "you are very honored indeed, but you are dead; I am doing the really difficult and great thing." In the gulf between the two men, and their characteristic views of life, in a few lin
