It is the state of being righteous, holy or pure. It is an important theological concept in religions such as Zoroastrianism, Hinduism etc. A righteous act or quality is also deemed as righteousness. It is a concept based on the fact that human actions must be righteous and pleasing to God. In the words of Robert Barclay, “Since we have placed justification in the revelation of Jesus Christ formed and brought forth in the heart, there working his works of righteousness and bringing forth the fruits of the Spirit.”
They must be justified and correct. Righteousness is the state of being right with God or Christ. The act or conduct of someone who is righteous is called righteousness. It is one of the main principles of ethical and moral conduct. In the words of Leland Stanford, “A man's sentiments are generally just and right, while it is second selfish thought which makes him trim and adopt some other view. The best reforms are worked out when sentiment operates, as it does in women, with the indignation of righteousness.”
