Temptation is the state of being tempted or being induced to do something. Temptation is a kind of allurement or enticement to do something or the other. It is very difficult for a human being to abstain or refrain from temptations. The word “temptation” is often used when someone is induced to do something evil. Ambrose Bierce had once remarked, “Abstainer: a weak person who yields to the temptation of denying himself a pleasure.” Even seduction is a form of temptation to ignite feelings of the member of the opposite sex so that he loses control and starts loving recklessly. Anything might serve as a temptation. For people who are healthy, all the sumptuous food serves as a temptation. For all those who are corrupt and can be bribed, money is always a temptation. In the words of Henry Ward Breecher, “All men are tempted. There is no man that lives that can't be broken down, provided it is the right temptation, put in the right spot.”
