I behaved poorly by starting this whole thing and I made some mistakes in dealing with it, and they made some mistakes in dealing with me, and taking down all my stuff was probably one of them.

Your child should feel entitled to cry when you leave; crying is a natural thing for a child to do when she feels bad. The fact that your child cries when you go doesn't mean she will never like day care. It just means she wants you to stay.

It is not the time spent with the child at their activity that is going to produce the highest level athlete. It is in supporting the child in an organized activity - and Bill alluded to this - so the child can find what they truly like to do and let them go.

Pain is a marvelous purifier...It is not necessary to beat the child into submission; a little bit of pain goes a long way for a young child. However, the spanking should be of sufficient magnitude to cause the child to cry genuinely.

I don't think that left to its own devices, capitalism moves along smoothly and everyone gets treated fairly in the process. Capitalism is like a child: if you want the child to grow up free and productive, somebody's got to look over the shoulder of that child.

The bond between a parent and child is the primary bond, the foundation for the rest of the child's life. The presence or absence of this bond determines much about the child's resiliency and what kind of adult they will grow up to be.

Dakota Fanning is a child, but she is a wonderful actor. I don't know what a child actor is. She's an actor who's a child.

The child thinks of growing old as an almost obscene calamity, which for some mysterious reason will never happen to itself. All who have passed the age of thirty are joyless grotesques, endlessly fussing about things of no importance and staying alive without, so far as the child can see, having anything to live for. Only child life is real life.

"The Lesson": Yes, my fretting, Frowning child, I could cross The room to you More easily. But Ive already Learned to walk, So I make you Come to me. Let go now There! You see? Oh, remember This simple lesson, Child, And when In later years You cry out With tight fists And tears Oh, help me, Godplease. Just listen And youll hear A silent voice: I would, child, I would. I dont know, I guess weve never been one of those bands that makes most of their income from CD sales. We make it from touring, but from a managers or business point of view trying to manage the music that gets out into the world since CD sales are so down, you try to take advantage of all these others avenues. But just to get all that happening creates so much work because instead of just dealing with the record company, you are dealing with this website, that website, your MySpace, Twitter, Facebook, CDBaby, iTunes, Amazon.com, its so much to keep track of. Its exciting and challenging.
