Ive lived most of my life in Phoenix, Arizona, and Im addicted to the desert heat. I have two sisters and three brothers; I loved being part of a big family, and were all still really close. I live down the street from my mom and dad and I talk to them on the phone probably once a day. Ive been married for thirteen years to a boy I grew up with, and we now have three boys of our own. My favorite hobbies used to be reading, drawing, and scrap-booking, but now I mostly just write.

Something really stinks, but I Sphinx like Leon, Or lion in the desert I'm flying on pegasus you're flying on the pheasant. Rider of the white powder, picker of the fire flowers, spit hot fire like Dylon on Chappelle's skit Yeah, smell it on my unicorn, snort the white horse, but toot my own horn.

What do we mean by setting a man free? You cannot free a man who dwells in a desert and is an unfeeling brute. There is no liberty except the liberty of some one making his way towards something. Such a man can be set free if you will teach him the meaning of thirst, and how to trace a path to a well. Only then will he embark upon a course of action that will not be without significance. You could not liberate a stone if there were no law of gravity -- for where will the stone go, once it is quarried?

Recently I stood in the desert, far outside of L. A., and watched the sun set on a circus tent from 1930. Everywhere stood animals: elephants, tigers that should be loaded into a steam train. 300 extras in costumes raced around, the modern world had disappeared totally. Although that was totally fake, it still happened directly before my eyes! That was my perfect day. I would be gladly experience that every day. It happens continually to me: It calls itself work. That is wonderful and more than enough.

But met this knucklehead, thought he want a order, Came and asked me stop pitching to his daughter, Tell me it's the man, can't be, Be glad I'm not in her damn panties, Got her damn handy, How you going to ever ask stop carrying candy, I'm going to sell to anybody in your damn family, Your Uncle Tom, your Aunt Tammy, your Grandmammy, Your right hand man Randy, understand me, in Atlanta I got an outlandish land piece and a matching land, Desert Calasandi.

What treaty have the Sioux made with the white man that we have broken? Not one. What treaty have the white man ever made with us that they have kept? Not one. When I was a boy the Sioux owned the world; the sun rose and set on their land; they sent ten thousand men to battle. Where are the warriors today? Who slew them? Where are our lands? Who owns them?....What law have I broken? Is it wrong for me to love my own? Is it wicked for me because my skin is red? Because I am a Sioux; because I was born where my father lived; because I would die for my people and my country?

If, in the present chaotic and shameful struggle for existence, when organized society offers a premium on greed, cruelty, and deceit, men can be found who stand aloof and almost alone in their determination to work for good rather than gold, who suffer want and persecution rather than desert principle, who can bravely walk to the scaffold for the good they can do humanity, what may we expect from men when freed from the grinding necessity of selling the better part of themselves for bread?

True friendship multiplies the good in life and divides its evils. Strive to have friends, for life without friends is like life on a desert island, to find one real friend in a lifetime is good fortune; to keep him is a blessing.

As creators, it's our responsibility to inspire, to motivate, to ignite the fire in every living person. Even in our deepest frustration when the wellsprings of creation seem as dry as the Sahara Desert, our's is the capacity to take the abundance of nothing surrounding us, and create a masterpiece. Give the creative a stone and she will create a statue. Give him mud and he will build a castle. Give her a branch and she will grow Eden. Give him air and he will make wings to fly.

A mother is the truest friend we have, when trials, heavy and sudden, fall upon us; when adversity takes the place of prosperity; when friends who rejoice with us in our sunshine, desert us when troubles thicken around us, still will she cling to us, and endeavor by her kind precepts and counsels to dissipate the clouds of darkness, and cause peace to return to our hearts

Alan: You guys might not know this, but I consider myself a bit of a loner. I tend to think of myself as a one-man wolf pack. But when my sister brought Doug home, I knew he was one of my own. And my wolf pack... it grew by one. So there... there were two of us in the wolf pack... I was alone first in the pack, and then Doug joined in later. And six months ago, when Doug introduced me to you guys, I thought, "Wait a second, could it be?" And now I know for sure, I just added two more guys to my wolf pack. Four of us wolves, running around the desert together, in Las Vegas, looking for strippers and cocaine. So tonight, I make a toast!

Wolf Pack quotes
In the streets and in society I am almost invariably cheap and dissipated, my life is unspeakably mean. No amount of gold or respectability would in the least redeem it,-- dining with the Governor or a member of Congress!! But alone in the distant woods or fields, in unpretending sprout-lands or pastures tracked by rabbits, even in a bleak and, to most, cheerless day, like this, when a villager would be thinking of his inn, I come to myself, I once more feel myself grandly related, and that cold and solitude are friends of mine. I suppose that this value, in my case, is equivalent to what others get by churchgoing and prayer. I come home to my solitary woodland walk as the homesick go home. I thus dispose of the superfluous and see things as they are, grand and beautiful. I have told many that I walk every day about half the daylight, but I think they do not believe it. I wish to get the Concord, the Massachusetts, the America, out of my head and be sane a part of every day.

Solitude quotes
Respect the man of noble races other than your own, who carries out, in a different place, a combat parallel to yours -- to ours. He is your ally. He is our ally, be he at the other end of the world. Love all living things whose humble task is not opposed in any way to yours, to ours: men with simple hearts, honest, without vanity and malice, and all the animals, because they are beautiful, without exception and without exception indifferent to whatever idea there may be. Love them, and you will see the eternal in the glance of their eyes of jet, amber, or emerald. Love also the trees, the plants, the water that runs though the meadow and on to the sea without knowing where it goes; love the mountain, the desert, the forest, the immense sky, full of light or full of clouds; because all these exceed man and reveal the eternal to you.
