There's no way in the world I can feel the same blues the way I used to. When I play in Chicago, I'm playing up-to-date, not the blues I was born with. People should hear the pure blues - the blues we used to have when we had no money.

Everybody would love to be mayor of Chicago. If you look at what we have done over many, many years and where we are today and the commitment by the business community, the commitment by the not-for-profit community - all this coming together - this is a wonderful city.

Got a chance to meet the McDonald's All Americans from Chicago at the game last night. I found out too that 8 out of 10 starters in this year's NBA All-Star game are former McDonalds All Americans.

When the government picked companies and gave them monopoly rights to frequencies in San Francisco and Los Angeles and New York and Chicago, it was picking the winners of the competition; it wasn't setting the terms of the competition.

I think you can totally be a totally normal kid from the suburbs of Chicago and go off and play shows. It's one of those things that when you go home, you're still the nerd you were when you left, and your parents still get to yell at you about cleaning up your room, and your girlfriend still drags you to the pet store.

Whats funny is I really thought I would be handicapped in Los Angeles because the kids had a real wild way of dancing, whereas back in Chicago it was really more on the cool bop side. I looked at the California style and I said, 'This just isnt gonna work.' I was completely mistaken.

The best advice one can offer to both press and public is the suggestion Ronald Reagan himself gave to students in Chicago Don't let me get away with it. Check me out. Don't be the sucker generation.

My father was a carpenter, a very good carpenter. He also worked for the Jones boys. They were not family members, we weren't related at all. They started the policy racket in Chicago, and they had the five and dime store.

As a citizen of the great city of Chicago, I find it impossible to root against the White Sox. The White Sox organization has been much more consistent, in my lifetime at least, at putting a winning ballclub on the field.

My parents didn't really understand too much about sport. At that time, we were in a Polish community in the inner city of Chicago, and I was the youngest of a bunch of cousins. Polish families are real big, with cousins and aunts and uncles.

I was never exposed to a great deal of racism, but the Chicago I grew up in was very, very segregated. If I went four blocks from my house, I was in a bad neighborhood where I might get my a.. handed to me by someone who was black. If I went a mile farther, I might get my a.. handed to me by someone who was white.

Would you look around you now and tell me what you see, faces full of hate and fear, faces full of me.

Im feeling really loved right now and I appreciate all the support that helped me earn a starting position in the All-Star game. I want to thank all the fans that voted, especially the people from my hometown of Chicago. I also want to give thanks to the Bulls organization that did a great job promoting me, and most of all I want to thank my teammates and coaches for putting me in this position.

I'm a film improv comedy nerd. I was really into knowing all the improvisors that were coming out of Chicago. I don't know if that's geeky or not, but I guess it could be to some people. And I'm really into Judy Garland. I listen to her records a lot instead of cool music. I don't know if that's geeky either or just really strange.

I worked a lot in Chicago's theater scene as a fight choreographer. And so I do have a lot of experience in stage combat and also in Kabuki dance and Kabuki theater.

I feel like Jud Buechler from the Chicago Bulls back in 97, or Steve Kerr of the Bulls, where Im the guy who comes off of the bench and does my thing, you know? But Im not Jordan. I just feel very grateful to be a part of that, to be a part of a winning team.

Bud Johnson, God rest his soul of fame, a tenor saxophonist. Bud was always a big, big, big booster of mine and he always when I first met Bud in Pittsburgh when he came through there, he heard me sing and he wanted me to come to Chicago.

I love Chicago. It's such a great town, and it's got great culture and great history, and it's not as extreme as LA or New York, and it's just- it's hard for me for work, because I don't live and work in the same place and that's tough. But I'm- I love it.
