The shooting of the movie is the truth part and the editing of the movie is the lying part, the deceit part.

I think there is a lot in Magic Mike that would have been applicable for this season of True Blood. I definitely got some ideas from shooting Magic Mike for certain scenes that come up this year on True Blood.

One moment would be shooting a scene with Kristen Chenowith where she is singing. I was sitting right in front of her and she was just belting it out. She can let loose like no other! She's singing a song and it was pretty much directly to me. I was sitting right in front of her and she was singing it to the group of people I was in. It was one of those moments where I thought, 'Wow! How did I end up here?' She is so beautiful and talented.

People don't know where to place me. Terry Gilliam used me as a quirky cop in 'Twelve Monkeys', and then he hired me again to be an effeminate hotel clerk in 'Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas'. Another time, I was shooting this indie film 'The Souler Opposite' and six days a week, I'm playing this big puppy dog, then I come to the 'NYPD Blue' set and become this scumbag.

In the very first conversation I had with Paul Scheuring about the character, back when we were shooting the pilot, I suggested it would be interesting to play her as a recovering alcoholic, partly because I'm very suspicious of people who do good things for no reason. Seeing what a big heart she has, I wanted to give that some place to come from. Paul and I had that conversation and literally didn't mention it again to each other until I got the script for that episode.

Summer of '93. I spent that summer shooting a movie on eight millimeter video with two of my best friends, who made me audition for the role. And, I just found-I don`t know, I had a moment of clarity. I was like 'this is what I'm supposed to do.' I know that seems hard to believe at nineteen, but I was nineteen when I made that decision. And I haven't had a single regret. It's extremely fulfilling to do what I do. It really is. Now, obviously, when I do something bad, it will be a little bit different. It`ll be 'you were great in Barbershop.'

Are you kidding me? That day and night of shooting was one of my favorite experiences. I was actually proud of myself because I didn't care what I was doing. I was literally not judging myself. And it was so beautiful for a second. I've gone through my whole life caring deeply what people think of me. That was probably one of the first times where I didn't care for a second. And it was liberating. I felt more like a man than I've ever felt. That's what always excited me about other people's performances. Abandon.

Time is the thing. A show like this pulls all your time away from you. Usually I'll get home from work on a Saturday about 10am (after doing night shooting) and I'll sleep until Saturday afternoon. Saturday night and Sunday I'm usually feeling wiped out and I've not seen Holly all week. It's a pretty full-on life, but what do you do? I love my work and there are sacrifices.

I dream of being a shooting star. I dream of catching a falling star. I dream of a price charming. I dream of being swept off my feet. I am a dreamer. I dream of being a shining star. I dream of a happy ending. I dream of a life without pain. I dream of a world full of hope. I am a dreamer.

I was shooting What to Expect When You're Expecting in Atlanta with Chris Rock when this script came in. And I was like, Should I do it? And hes like, Oohmale strippers, I dont know. And I was like, If I do this movie, guys are going to hate my guts. And Chris Rock islike, Motherfu..er, guys are gonna hate your guts anyway. Brad Pitt spent 15 years with his shirt off, hes doing just fine.

Im so happy about because last year I was away from home all the time. I loved being on the road and having the opportunity to travel all over. But Im happy to be able to be home and asleep in my bed after a day of work. Usually when you work, you make homes everywhere. Ive made homes in Chicago, London, Africa...When I was in Los Angeles shooting Inception, I rented a beautiful house. It was home for a while, but I was aware it wasn't mine. It might actually be a challenge to get into a character while being in my own place.

Theres a lot of great things about being a newlywed. I mean, Im still in the honeymoon phase, so everything is great and amazing. Youre really not going anywhere, so theres no point in arguing thats what weve figured out. And your insecurities get cut out a little bit. Weve balanced our work and our personal lives; we really dont talk about work when we come home. Wed get home [after shooting] and talk about just the normal daily things in life.

I put on a lot of weight...I put on about 20 pounds at one point. It was purely eating, eating, eating, working out and working out, trying to sleep as much as you can...that's the other third of the equation. The eating was the biggest thing; since stopping shooting I probably work out the same but don't eat as much, and I've probably lost 15 pounds or something. Chicken breasts and protein shakes, boiled chicken, clean meats, the right carbs. Sickly stuff.

The whole place turned into a gigantic orgy, every kind of s.. freak, from homos..uals to nymphomaniacs, especially the needle and mainlining scene, losing syringes down the pool drains and blocking up the water infiltration system with broken syringes. Oh, it was really some night...Drinking, guzzling tequila, vodka, and scotch, and bourbon, and shooting up every other half-second, and just going into an incredible s..ual tailspin. Gobble gobble gobble gobble. Just couldn't get enough of it. It was one of the wildest scenes I've ever been in or ever hope to be in, and I should be ashamed of myself. I'm not, but I should be.

Every time something happened in Mileys career, every time the train went off the track, if you will, Vanity Fair, pole-dancing, whatever scandal it washer people, or as they say in todays news, her handlers, every time theyd put me...Somebodys shooting at Miley! Put the old man up there! Well, I took it, because Im her daddy, and thats what daddies do. Okay, nail me to the cross, Ill take it...All those people around, they used me every time. It became so obvious that, man, no matter what happens, theyre going to put you up there and let you take the bullet.

I was living with these three girls. One of them picked up [Hawkwind keyboardist] Dik Mik one night and brought him back to the flat. We got talking and realized we had a mutual interest in seeing how long amphetamines could make the human body jump about without stopping. He brought me into the band as his pill-popping buddy. They said, "Who plays bass?" And Dik Mik went, "He does." I'd never picked one up in my life. Hawkwind was a complete blitz: We had projectors shooting images all over the place, fireworks going off, nude dancers -- we were fu..ing fierce. We'd dose the audience with acid, lock the doors so they couldn't leave, then send them into epileptic fits with subsonic frequencies and strobes. Those were the days. I would never have left if they hadn't fired me.

If wheat were at this moment subject to a duty of twenty shillings the quarter, and if Indian corn were virtually excluded, next winter would not pass without a convulsion endangering the whole frame of society, without the humiliation of constituted authorities forced to yield after a disgraceful struggle...if their advice had been taken, we should have had famine prices for many articles, and a state of exasperated public feeling and just agitation, which it would require wiser heads than theirs to allay. So far from regretting the expulsion from office, I rejoice in it as the greatest relief from an intolerable burden. To have your own way, and to be for five years the Minister of this country in the House of Commons, is quite enough for any man's strength. He is entitled to his discharge, from length of service. But to have to incur the deepest responsibility, to bear the heaviest toil, to reconcile colleagues with conflicting opinions to a common course of action, to keep together in harmony the Sovereign, the Lords and the Commons; to have to do these things, and to be at the same time the tool of a party, that is to say, to adopt the opinions of men who have not access to your knowledge, and could not profit by it if they had, who spend their time in eating and drinking, and hunting, shooting, gambling, horse-racing, and so forth, would be an odious servitude, to which I will never submit. I determine to keep aloof from party combinations.
