MUMMY, n. An ancient Egyptian, formerly in universal use among modern civilized nations as medicine, and now engaged in supplying art with an excellent pigment. He is handy, too, in museums in gratifying the vulgar curiosity that serves to distinguish man from the lower animals. By means of the Mummy, mankind, it is said, Attests to the gods its respect for the dead. We plunder his tomb, be he sinner or saint, Distil him for physic and grind him for paint, Exhibit for money his poor, shrunken frame, And with levity flock to the scene of the shame. O, tell me, ye gods, for the use of my rhyme: For respecting the dead what's the limit of time? --Scopas Brune.

Between persons of equal income there is no social distinction except the distinction of merit. Money is nothing: character, conduct, and capacity are everything. There would be great people and ordinary people and little people, but the great would always be those who had done great things, and never the idiots whose mothers had spoiled them and whose fathers had left them a hundred thousand a year; and the little would be persons of small minds and mean characters, and not poor persons who had never had a chance. That is why idiots are always in favor of inequality of income (their only chance of eminence), and the really great in favor of equality.

Hail, holy Queen, Mother of Mercy, Our life, our sweetness and our hope. To thee do we cry, poor banished children of Eve, To thee do we send up our sighs, Mourning and weeping in this valley of tears. Turn then, most gracious Advocate, thine eyes of mercy toward us, And after this our exile, show unto us the blessed fruit of thy womb, Jesus. O clement, O loving, O sweet Virgin Mary! Pray for us, O Holy Mother of God, That we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ. Amen. -Hail Holy Queen

Mother Mary Prayer quotes
Conversation, to take another example, is one of the common pleasures of life, but not all conversation is pleasurable. The stutterer finds talking painful, and the listener is equally pained. Persons who are inhibited in expressing feeling are not good conversationalists. Nothing is more boring than to listen to a person talk in a monotone without feeling. We enjoy a conversation when there is a communication of feeling. We have pleasure in expressing our feelings, and we respond pleasurably to another person's expression of feeling. The voice, like the body, is a medium through which feeling flows, and when this flow occurs in an easy and rhythmic manner, it is a pleasure both to the speaker and listener.

I have a lot of really close, important friends of mine who live in Los Angeles and a lot of good things in my life have happened to me in Los Angeles or have come from Los Angeles. That being said, it's too hot for me. The architecture is ugly. You can't walk anywhere. The food sucks. Everyone's carrying guns. It's like every time I go down there, the division between rich and poor becomes increasingly more and more marked until...Los Angeles seems to be up there with Bogota in terms of cities where the super rich are as rich as anybody on Earth but they live in gated communities and have black SUVs driving them with bodyguards and then the rest of the people live in fu..ing shanty towns. I've never seen it as bad as L.A. There's just no middle class. It's horrible.

Actors didn't use to be celebrities. A hundred years ago, they put the theaters next to the brothels. Actors were poor. Celebrities used to be kings and queens. Then the United States abolished monarchy, and now there's this coming together of show business and celebrity. I don't think it's healthy. I don't want to sound self-important, but all these celebrity shows and magazines, it comes from us, from Hollywood, from our country. We're the ones creating it. And I think it works in close step with a lot of other bad things that are happening in the world. It promotes greed, it promotes being selfish and it promotes this ladder, where you're a better person if you have more money. It's not at all about the work itself. Don't get me wrong. I love movies. But this myth of celebrity has nothing to do with movies.

Laugh, even when you feel too sick or too worn out or tired. Smile, even when youre trying not to cry and the tears are blurring your vision. Sing, even when people stare at you and tell you your voice is terrible. Trust, even when your heart begs you not to. Sleep, even when youre afraid of what the dreams might bring. Run, even when it feels like you cant run any more. And, always, remember, even when the memories pinch your heart. Because the pain of all your experience is what makes you the person you are now. And without your experience - you are an empty page, a blank notebook, a missing lyric. What makes you brave is your willingness to live through your terrible life and hold your head up high the next day. So dont live life in fear. Because you are stronger now, after all the crap has happened, than you ever were back before it started.

Dolla, Dolla, ought to promise more of tomorrow then momentary holigrams fix-fix, candy coated excess fit for nothing better than misinterpreted nitwits to spend a dolla on tits tipping the game to play another hit or flip the stakes higher. Add a bill to the tab please sire for, we admire dolla, dolla, style. Theres a urgency for currency to be spent, I want it now! The deals not enough, Ima consumer bloomer congruent to all out, union of moving into the fall route. Split between a poor-trait and a rich pinch of which pretty penny makes intense sense, since Im looking for the seat of success in my 2 cents to a differ-rinse in washing the brain to sustain rent, clothes, and what it all meant before the dolla, dolla, holla, holla, blue collar rocwila taught you how to be a scholar working at McDonalds parlor top it off with fries.
