Delusion is any belief or impression that is not real. Delusion can be a result of daydreaming or building castles in the air. Delusion makes us believe in something false, that is unreal. In the words of William Ralph Inge, “A nation is a society united by delusion about its ancestry and by common hatred of its neighbours”. This quote provides us the key to the unity of any nation.
Delusion does not help, since it revolves around falsehood and fake reality or hallucination. Real beliefs and impressions are always a great source of inspiration and knowledge, since they keep harping on the reality bites. Unpredictable and erratic disbeliefs always make us go wayward and directionless. At times, the source of a delusion may be one's inner self, which just believes in fantasies and hallucinations. In the words of Jim Rehn, “Affirmation without discipline is the beginning of delusion.”
